Zlatica : Re: DISTANT RELATIVES
Mari Jo,

hope you got to see my post to your query on Slovenia's board. I have provided several useful websites for your research.
The LDS-Mormons have filmed the church records of Slovak Republic but the Western region's films are not ready for release into the Family History Center. You might want to hire a researcher in SK or send a request to the archive to do the research for you.
www.centroconsult.sk

You want to connect with the Slovak distant relatives, send a letter with family information, your e-mail and a photo of your ancestor for that "extra" visual aid and see what develops.

Mari Jo

where are you looking for the relatives of your ancestor?
Is it the "old country"? Than the Slovak Republic's phone site does have some use.

Emőke: Bebiaks in Hungary
Hey

I'm also Bebiak... I live in Budapest and I guess my ancestors came from Slovakia. Uhh, I think I should aks my dad, he knows more about these things. So, in Hungary there are only two Bebiak families left: my family and my dad's cousin's family (or so... I'm not sure if they are simply cousins or second cousins).
Where are you guys from? How many Bebiaks are out there??

MARIJO48867: Re: Bebiaks in Hungary
Hello Emoke:

I live in Michigan where most of the descendants of my grandfather Joseph Bebiak reside. I believe we have been in contact via e-mails about a year ago. I never did find out much about your family. Please ask your father where in Slovakia his family came from and who his grandfather was. Any connection to the Nitra/Chynorany area? )Please find out and get back with me.

MARIJO: Unable to locate towm
Can anyone tell me where the town of Szasspelsocz was in Hungary? The spelling might be off alittle as I have seen it spelled a couple of different ways on the Ellis Island website. Thank you.
