Anyai nagymamám nagybégányi Bégányi Ilona volt. Keresem Bégányi rokonaimat, illetve akiknek van Bégányi nevû felmenõjük. Dédapám azt mondta, meg lehet fordítani a címert a falon, merthogy nagymamám nõ révén nem vitte tovább a Bégányi nevet. Nem tudom, így van-e...

azért a címerforgatásos idõhöz képest Rita hugi meglehetõsen fiatalnak és virgoncnak látszik! Lehet, hogy itt az idõ, hogy több mint 200 év után ismét beszélgessünk? Egyébként mikor rokonságot kerestem, Németországban találtam leszármazottat! Csaba

Szia Rita!! Amúgy én meg Zita vagyok, csak nem Bégányi, hanem Harsányi, csak anyai ági nagymamám nagybégányi Bégányi Ilona.Õk már Nyírbogdányban éltek...Van egy családfánk, elég sokág vissza van visszavezetve, azt megmutatmán Neked, ha esetleg személyesen találkoznánk, hátha találnánk közös õst...

ha már Joónak hívnak, megkérdem, nem mintha olyan ritka lenne ez a név, de nem munkácsi az elõneved? Mert úgy meg az egyik apai dédanyámat hívták, egészen pontosan munkácsi Joó Gizellának. Az édesapja Joó Mihály volt. A Felviféken éltek, de nem biztos, hogy mindig, mert valagol Szatmár környékén ismerte meg Joó Mihály a feleségét, szentmiklósi Mudrony Magdát,(a keresztnevében nem vagyok biztos), és 4 gyerekük született, Joó Ármin, Joó Magda, Joó Margit, és Joó Gizella, a dédi.Joó Sándor nem hiszem, hogy rokon...

Nem tudom, hogy hívták a nagypapám testvéreit...de sajnos nekem az apai ágamon nem rokonom, aki Harsányi, mert apukám nevelõapja volt Harsányi Miklós. Õ is felvette ezt a nevet...Van egy pár gixer a családban...Anyai ágamon voltak Harsányiak, ezen mulattam, de õk nem biztos, hogy egyenes ági felmenõim...Õk viszont kisharsányi Harsányiak voltak...

John H. Beach: Beganyi of Niza Mystle or Bologd

Hi,
We have been doing a lot of Beganyi research in Niza Mystle and found our heritage lines going back to the early 1800s. This line came to Yonkers, NY in the late 1800's in the name of Michael Begany(i) b. 16 Jun 1872, who was the son of Michael Beganyi and Ann Schuller.

This line goes backward to Michael Beganyi b. 18 Sep 1843. Then to Michael Beganyi b, 20 Oct 1821. Here this Michael was born to parents Josephus Beganyi and Elizabeth Bednar. This Michael's God Parents were Andreas Vaszily and Anna Hrubssi.

We cannot go back any further since we cannot find the marriage records of Josephus and Elizabeth. Their first child was Josephus b. 15 Mar 1809 and following that; Maria b. 8 Aug 1811, Anna b. 16 Jul 1814, Elizabeth b. 27 Jan 1819 and Michael. It is possible the parents to Josephus might have been born in Bologd where other Beganyis lived.

Does anyone have data on this line ob Beganyis and know of this Josephus and Elizabeth and their parents?

We have a lot of data to exchange on this family line and would love to get it back further.

I have been researching Begani relatives for several years and was wondering if you can provide more info on your line with some dates so I can look in my info and see if I can connect some of them. My other family names are Drotar, Helfen, Jacobs, Repak and Palenscar and several others.

Unfortunately, I do not know Magyar. I can make out the names and location:
grandmother (I think) GOLYA-BODNAR Erzsebet,
grandfather BEGANYI Istvan
Mateszalka, (Szatmar megye) Hungary
Maybe using Hungarian dictionary would help unless someone knowing Magyar and English comes to your aid.
