Cefus: Beicsy/csirfuss lineages
Hello,
I am researching my grandparents and gr.grandparents and
beyond if possible.
The names i have on birth and marriage documents have
both these names but is very difficult to decipher the real spelling..the csirfuss surname in America is spelled
Cefus now..
I am looking for information on a Barbala Beicsy married
to Mihaly Csirfuss (cefus?) their marriage date was
April 19, 1898 In Hungary..i would like any info. on the Cefus and the Beicsy lineage.
My gr.grandparents names (the best i can decipher)
are Rosalia Molnar and Tslvari (?) Beicsy...the town
was Rabakenlmihaly (?) Hungary..
If anyone has any information i would appreciate hearing
from you.

BejcziG: Re: Beicsy/csirfuss lineages
Dear Cefus,

I suggest your gr.grfather was Istvan Beiczy. This family name has more versions, sometimes in the same family: Beiczi, Bejczi, Bejczy, Bejtzi, etc. because of the same pronounce, but different spelling rules changing in the time.
The basic form is Bejczi or Bejczy.
The village you mentioned should be called Rabaszentmihaly (St.Michael at the river Raba). As I remember I have some data about the Bejczi's lived there. I'll check it soon!
And as far as I know they are still living there.

Best regards
Gabor Bejczi
