My father's family name is Belnay. They are from Czechoslovakia, immigrated to the USA in about 1906. They are from "Liptovska" region, I amnot sure exactly where. Does anyone know of the Peter Belnay family?

7 BELNAYs came thru Ellis Island. www.ellisislandrecords.org One of them an ancestor?
Up to 1918 the records would say Hungary. After the fall of Austria-Hungary empire Czechoslovakia. Since 1993 Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. The "Liptovska" region is in Slovak Republic.

Coming thru EI in 1903 a Peter BELNAY from Verbicz. Is this your Peter?
The village of Verbicz is Vrbica and now part of town of Liptovsky Mikulas.
BELNAY: Johann, Julius and Rosa arriving in 1903 from L.Srt. Miklos should be L. Szt. Miklos - Liptoszentmiklos = Liptovsky Svaty Mikulas aka Liptovsky Mikulas and going to a husband and father Peter BELNAY.
I found a BELNAYOVA (ova ending just specifies that it is a female) and BELNAJOVA in www.geoportal.sk/roep/e.php in Uhorska Ves whose old name was Magyarfalu.
