Zlatica : Re: Bohn family

The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) have filmed the church records of several European countries but you need to know the name of a town and religious orientation of your ancestor to order the films.
www.bmi.net/jjaso to familiarize yourself with church wording.

958 BOHNs, 329 KIEFFERs, 13 LALJERs, 2 ALTEMEIERs passed thru Ellis Island to America. Maybe your ancestor passed thru that port and if yes, there should be a name of a town on the manifest.

ShirleyDees: Re: Bohn family
Thank you. I don't how long your answer was here. I only came across it today. We do believe now they were from Csatad/Lenauheim. We found an Anna Bohn who visited her father there in 1911 from Cincinnati, Ohio. We also believe that John Jr had a sister by the name of Anna who died young from a serious illness like Thyphoid or something incurable. Thanks again for your reply. S D

Shirley

My post has been there since the day you posted your query.
Thank you for coming back to post some more information.
The town of Csatad is in Torontal megye, now in Romania.

A good locator of a town is :
www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm
www.genealogienetz.de/reg/ESE/dsinfo.htm
The LDS-Mormons website is listing a Roman Catholic church records of Csatad. If this is your ancestor's religious orientation, you can order the films and gather ancestral information.
