| morgana: Bolvary Estate in Kondo, Hungary | Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about a Bolvary estate in Kondo, Hungary? In the early 1900's at least from 1912 to 1919, my great-grandfather & his family were living there. My grandfather was born in that house, as were most of his siblings. My grandfather called it a castle, although that might have been exaggerated over the years, & described life on the estate in great detail.
The estate was a working farm, of about 9000 acres where wheat & rye were grown. There was also an orchard, bee hives, grazing land for sheep, grapes grown for wine, etc. The estate also included the Bolvary family burial ground. My great-grandfather leased the land from the family of Count Bolary, who died in Vienna in the service of Emperor Franz Joseph.
If anyone from this branch of the Bolvary family sees the post, I would very much like to discuss the property with you. My name is Laura Molnar & my email is morgannia -a-t- gmail -d-o-t- com
Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated. |
