Hi Linda,
There's no place called Vamosfalu, although that's how shown at Ellis Island for Bonizs Istvanne=(Mrs.Stephen Bonizs) and Ferencz=(Frank), it's wrong. It's actually Vámosújfalu, Zemplén Conty, Tokaji District in Hungary, alternate names Ujfalu or Vámos-Ujfalu.
With Ellis Island One Step Search I found Istvan Bonizo (corr.Bonizs)(18) and Istvara (corr.Istvan) Bonizo (corr.Bonizs)(50) arr'd on Dec.10 1904 from V.Ujfalu=(Vamosujfalu) to son-in-law Korins(?) Konrád in N. Tonawanda.
Let me know if you have any question.

Thank you so much for your help!!! I didn't know my great-grandfather had a sister! I haven't had any luck finding Korins Konrad in Ellis Island or in Tonawanda -- which do you think was his first name?

Linda, at www.ellisisland.org type in Bonizo (on the handwritten original it's Bonizs), there's only two, Istvan(18) and Istvara(50). Click on any of them, than on the next page click on Original Ship Manifest on the left. You'll get the hand written original, it's hard to read, that's why look for the magnifier symbol on the page which will enlarge the document. They're #15 and 16 on the list, and at end on their line you'll see son-in-law (surname)=Korins or rather Kornis Konrád (in Hung. last name goes first), and the address in Tonawanda. Also on the middle of the line is V.Ujfalu=(Vámosújfalu)

Linda Sullivan: Re: Bonizs in Vamosfalu
Thank you again! I found the record in Ellis Island, and also found Konrad "Kornisz" and his wife Rebecca in the 1910 census for Tonawanda. I haven't found his or Rebecca's immigration records yet.

I couldn't find them either, they may came thru an other port. But I found an Anna Bonczs (misspelled Bonizs) (26) arr'd Aug.29,1904 from Vámosújfalu to husband István Bónizs in N.Tonawanda. They must be other family members, look out for them on the census form.
Did you try to get vital church record for Vámosújfalu yet from LDS(Mormons):
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp
Follow the links with Place Search vamosujfalu until see the View Film Numbers on the upper right corner.
This one for the Reformed (Calvinist) Church (let me know if they were in other religion, because than went to church in a different place):

Linda Sullivan: Re: Bonizs in Vamosfalu
The Anna Bonizs you found in the Ellis Island record could be my great-grandmother, Anna Gavaler Bonizs, but her age is wrong -- she would have been about 16 in 1904. Also, that Anna arrived in August, 1904 and Istvan and his father didn't arrive until December of that year, so that is a mystery!!! I haven't got the church records for Vamosujfalu yet, because they are in Hungarian. I'm trying to find someone here in Phoenix, Arizona who speaks Hungarian to help me. My grandmother was Catholic, so her parents and grandparents probably were also.

Linda,
István, the son was still single when arr'd, that's why I think this Anna was an other family member.

The records at LDS pretty straight forward, names, place names and dates mostly, somebody can always help here or other forums, I leave you my addres below. Two website can help, the first one designed exactly for church document tranlation, the other is a dictionary site:
http://www.bmi.net/jjaso/
http://www.foreignword.com/Tools/dictsrch.htm

From Vámosujfalu R.Cath's went to church in Tolcsva, these are the records at LDS:
