Bozsa: Bozsa Ancestors in Pecs Area
I am researching the family of my grandfather, Karoly Bozsa. He was born in 1879 in either Virovitica, Croatia, or Barcs, Hungary. Karoly had 4 or 5 brothers, some of whom lived in Pecs, Hungary. Karoly and his wife, Anna, came to the U.S. in 1907 and settled in Illinois.

Since there seem to be just a few Bozsas in the world, I would like to hear from anyone with the Bozsa name. I have found some Bozsa families in Pecs, in Budapest, in Germany, in Australia, and in Belgium. None of them know much about their ancestors.

The town of Barcs falls into Somogy megye, Hungary.
The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :

The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) website is listing church records of Barcs. You can order the films and gather ancestral information.
www.bmi.net/jjaso to familiarize yourself with church wording.
17 BOZSAs passed thru Ellis Island. Maybe some clue in those manifests.

CJ Stovall: Re: Bozsa Ancestors in Pecs Area
Thank you for your message. I have not found any Bozsas that have originated in Vorosmart until now. I am interested in the name of your great-grandfather Bozsa. Do you know where and when he was born? Do you know the names of your great-grandfather's brothers & sisters? Also, do you have the names of your grandfather Bozsa's brothers & sisters?

I am trying to find information on the 4 brothers (& 2 sisters) of my grandfather, Karoly Bozsa, born in 1879 in possibly Virovitica, Hungary (now Croatia)or Barcs. His father was Jozsef Bozsa & mother was Mary Nagy. His parents also died when he was very young. He was raised by his uncle, Istvan Bozsa. He had uncles in Pecs. Please send me any more names, birthdates, & places of birth that you might have for your Bozsa ancestors. I have been to Hungary 3 times, visiting people with the Bozsa name.
Thank you again & I hope to hear from you soon,

Dear Caroll!

I hope you remember me. About 2000-2001 you sent me a letter, and asked some questions about our possible common ancestors.
I don't forget this and at this time, and I would like to talk with you if it not uncomfortable for you.

I wait for your letter,

Br. Karoly Bozsa
