Joe

Not a Bruncsak. You do need to establish a name of a town for your ancestor in order to proceed with the research.

4 BRUNCSAKs and 2 BRUNC'AKs passed thru Ellis Island.
Do you know what language your ancestor spoke? Was it Magyar or Slovak?
The Slovak Republic's phone site is listing a surname Brunc^ak.
www.zoznamst.sk
Hungary's phone site is at :
www.matav.hu/english/index.html & is listing some Bruncsak (sorry I do not have Magyar keyboard to show diacritical marking on letter A).

christian: Re: Hello!
Joe, this is your second cousin Christian. I was trying to do the same thing, and I've had little luck. I did find some Romanian Bruncsak doctor on the web, but I'm sure you've been looking there as well. It was spelled Bruncsák.
Also who is Attila Bruncsak, Tamas Bruncsak? Let me know if you need any help with this. Also, this could make for an interesting documentary. Good luck on the 48 hour film project I'd love to see it!. I've just moved to Tucson AZ and I'm trying to get acclimated to everything here: job, heat, scenery, etc. My girlfriend got a great job here working for Mary Virgina Swanson, a big shot in the photo biz, so things should work out well. Once again try to get back to me, I'd love to chat, get back to me.

Anikó
Hello. My name is Anikó Bruncsák from Hungary. I live in Kecskemét with my family. I find every Bruncsák who live in other countries, because I think just a few Bruncsák live in Hungary (but some Bruncsák live in Transylvania and Slovakia.)
By the way, my uncle's name is Attila Bruncsák, he live in France next to the frontier of Switzerland.

Hello Aniko!

It is good to hear from you. Thank you for writing. I actually emailed your uncle Attila a few years ago and he replied with some information about your family in Hungary, but I lost the email.

Can you tell me how many years or generations your family has lived in
the Kecskemét region? Also does anyone in your family know of any Bruncsaks who left Hungary for the USA in the early part of the 1900s? If so, do you have any names?

There are very few Bruncsaks who live in the US. All of them are my family members and they originally settled in the town of Arnold, Pennsylvania (about a half-hour drive to the East of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania).

Do you know of any other Bruncsaks I can contact in Slovakia and Transylvania? I look forward to hearing from you soon and will appreciate any information you can share with me about our family.

I hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you and talk with you soon,
