Alright I'm going to throw everything out there. My great grand father Peter Russ was born and Raised in Hungary. He had a wife Zena, and 2 sons George and Steven. Peter passed away and was buried in either Hungary or Romania (not 100 percent sure on this yet)
I have a few other blood lines that I'm also looking into. That are the Bzovi, Capitan, and Uncenlenca/Uncwlenice, and Bzovi.
My Great Grandpartents are John and Cristiana/Cristina Capitan who Immigrated from Romania, who had a daughter Zena Capitan. They immigrated to the US between 1908 and 1912.
Many of our letters go to Nadlac Fudhrad, Romania? One address I have from 1951 is 1658 Str Lunga, Nadlac, Jud Arad, Romania
It seems like many of the letters are to people and family in this area of romania.
Another Letter was to Teodor Ardelean at 1636 Nadlac, Raionul, Aroud Romania. This was in 1951.
We also think that Zena Capitan had some family in Romania also by the name of Valerie Resadean in Jud. Arad, Romania These are from 1929.
The name Teodor Ardeleon and Ardelean Todor Again the address comes back to 1636 Nadlac.
I am just beginning my hunt. And am just beginning to get my family to buy in and provide me with information.
The Russ and Capitan side of the family were Shoe Makers and carried on the Tradition. I have many many letters that are in Hungarian, Romanian, and Italian that I need to translate. Hopefully this can provide information.
We know the Capitan side of the family at some point was quite wealthy and owned land and potentially castles. We do know that Zena and her family were able to travel around Europe in the late 1920's and took multiple trips over the pond to visit family or bring family to the US.
