richardo: my german ancestor
Dear friends,

My name is Nedela Richardo, I’m from Romania and I have been searching a long time for a german who is supposed to be my great-great-father. All my inqueries (by internet) brought me no answer and I have no access to official data of that period. Still, I’m confident of my german blood.
All that I know about my ancestor is based on memories and suppositions (due to our former totalitarian-communist government): that he was an engineer (maybe in forestry) and he was about 30 years when he arrived in 1880 in Cicarlau, Maramures, (Transylvania), Romania. At that time this location was under austrian-hungarian empire administation. Possibly, he was from Berlin and he had a sister. He is alleged had staying in Ciciarlau, near (or in) Baia Mare, Maramures, until 1923.
His name is CLEMENZ CAROL (or variants: Klemenz, Klementz, Clementz, Karol).
Named in our village as The German, he is supposed having had two children with a (beautiful) married woman: Emanuel and Helen, who inherited (with their official’s father name, and by a buy-and-sell contract) German’s properties.
I surely know that I’m the fruit of Carol’s adventure (my blue eyes, popular stories about my origin etc.), but I want more about his life.
Waiting hopefully for your answer (good or bad), I send you my best regards.

Richardo

P.S. Unfortunately, I have no other sources in this matter and I don’t know german language. I don’t know what to do.
However, my great-great-father should be proud of me: I’m assistant professor at University, I’m teaching philosophy and I like Hegel.
