Billie: Cserno - Tenkei / Tinca - Bihar megye
Amerikai állampolgár vagyok. Csak egy-két szót tudok magyarul.

Kutató családfa Csernó lakhely Tenkei (tartózkodási idő közel 1850-1900).

Replies in English would be helpful, but I can get assistance with magyarul --> angol translation.

My grandfather left early 1900 Hungary and moved to Vienna. He was the youngest of 6 boys and was not serving in the H-A army as he was to short in lenghs.
His name was Emiel Cserno. most probably he shortened his family name: according his daughter it was von Notz Cserno.
Do you perhaps some info regarding my grandfather?

Tom

Why you suspect that the surname was shortened? Emiel most likely Emil. Do you know where in "Hungary" he was born? That is the most important piece to the genealogical research.

Hi, My grandfather was called Emil Cserno, but he died around 1939 when my father was about 11 years old. My father recently told me that he had at least a half brother.
I am curious about the family tree and would realy appreciate it if anybody could send me more info about my family.
Best regards,
Madelon Kaspers

Tom: Re: Cserno
You are correct. It must be Emil Cserno. Most probably it was Emil von Notz(?) Cserno. I think that the area where he was born after WW1 went to Tjecho-Slowakije as my mom had a passport from that country. Before WW2 my grandfather went to The Netherlands where he married and it seems that he had a factory in the southern part of The Netherlands. He died rather young (somewhere in his fifties) just before or just during the WW2. It seems that he had some children.
Do you think you can help me?

Kind regards,
Tom Klos, dutchdottom -a-t- yahoo -d-o-t- com
