Pusztahegyi: grandfather was Czerlau

Hi, my grandfather was a Czerlau. He lived in Romania (Szatmar area - Terebes). He changed the family name to Pusztahegyi in the late 1940's. So my father and his brother became the first boys from the family to be Pusztahegyi's. However, all other family on my father's side still bear the Czerlau name. I'm looking for relatives and family history. If you can help....please email me.

The Romania's phone site is listing the name CZERLAU in town of Satu Mare, Turulung and Viile Satu Mare.

Hey, my name is Tunde Agota Czerlau.
I was born in Turulung Romania in 1979. My dad`s name is Paul Czerlau. I heard about the Pusztahegyi family but I`m not sure anymore how the family history went. I will ask my dad about it and let you know via this site. I am curently in London England but I will go to Turulung in 3 week times.

Hi Tunde, I forgot I posted a message and just randomly did a search on the internet and found this again.

That's funny, I was born in Turulung in 1981. We moved to Canada in 1985 and I currently live in Toronto. My family must know yours, Turulung is not that big and I know there's a lot of Czerlau's in the area. We're likely related as cousins of some sorts...

Gondolom hogy Czerlau,Zerlau,Tzerlau utódok sokan vagyunk.
A Czerlau család Krasznabélteken élt és innen került el egy ága Turterebesre is. Èn régóta kutatok a Czerlau családok és leszármazotjaik után és örvendek minden ujj információnak.

Engem a Czerlau családokról és ezek utódairól is , minden érdekel:Név, Születési-,házasodási-,halálozási dátum és hely,Házastárs(ak),Gyerekek,Szülök,Nagyszülök és igy továb.
Nekem a Krasznabélteki Czerlauk megvannak 1795-töl. Innen származott Czerkau Konrád is aki Turterebesre települt át,felessége Hausmann Anastasia volt. Te ennek a Czerlau Konrádnak vagy az egyik utóda.
En is Czerlauktól származom le. A Dédnagyanyám Czerlau Èva volt.

HI Everybody,

It really surprised my how many relatives we have.

My grandfather was Czerlau Györg, he had 3 sons
Czerlau György (Gyuszi) jun. (to our sadness he died a few years ago)
Czerlau Gabor is living in Satu Mare
Czerlau Paul/Csaba is my dad, he is living in Munich/Germany

My cousins from
Gyuszi batyu is Czerlau Otto and his sister Erzsebet
Gabi batyu is Czerlau Atilla and Zsuzsi

I have a brother Czerlau Csongor 28 he is living in Munich/Germany.

I know many other Czerlaus and I will try to do a list when I see my dad again as he knows the connections better then me. I will post it as soon as I have it.

I really look forward to keep in meet many other Czerlaus and to get to know more about our family history.

Interesting commentary Tunde. I have never heard of Gyorg Czerlau in our ancestry. My father was born in Szatmar area - Terebes in 1905. His name was Joe as is mine. His father was Steve and his brothers were Steve amd Michael. He had a sister also. My father and his brother Steve came to Canada in the late 1920s. My father said that the Czerlau family migrated from the Black Forest of Germany over 300 years ago. I have somewhat of a family tree that goes back another generation. A nephew living in Budapest by the name of Robert Gilvesy who has done extensive research on ancestry. Apparenetly there is more information about our family tree in Prague.
Perhaps your father may know more.
