	lightningw: Re: Derkits , Derkics On my grandmothers passport is listed Pusztaszentmihaly, along with Gussing and Wein. I know my grandmother came here in 1921, I am pretty sure her parents came here in 1909. They sent for the children as they got the money. My grandmother was left with relatives at the age of 8/9. I know there are still relatives there in Austria. They settled in Chicago when they came to America, Some records I found showed them as going to NJ or NY. If they went there they only stayed a short time. There is a connection to a Frank Wagner. Hungary's phone site www.matav.hu/tudakozo/index_e.html is listing a DERKITS Ilona in Budapest's and DERKICS in Szombathely's phone book. Austria's phone book www.herold.at is listing DERKITS. Have you also posted on Austria-Hungary Ancestry board? Someone on that board posted with DERKITS. Check in www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm for the location of Gussing and Sankt Michael im Burgenland. 	dwritt: Derkics I am looking for relatives or information about a Josef and Franz Derkics who left Austria/Hungary for America around 1906 and 1908. Josef was around 31/33 years of age and his two children Franz was 3 or 4 and Anna was around 2. They had a brother Anton that stayed back in Austria. The mother was Julianna. Their US census data says they were from the Szentelek, Vas, Hungary area. They came into New York/Ellis Island and settled in Butler, Pa.
