I am searching for any information about DETZ:
My family lived in Hungary from 1786 until 1921, the family name is DETZ.
My great grandfather Andreas DETZ was born in Ujvidek=Novi Sad=Neusatz 1879, he was a "Drechsler"/carpenter in Novi Sad/Beocin. His father, also an Andreas DETZ, was born in Bulkes, he was a "Kuerschner" in Novi Sad and had a shop.
My great grandfather had two halfbrothers (we do not know what happened to them, one was missed during ww II in Russia) and one sister, they did not leave Hungary as far as we know. The name DETZ is not very common. I am very interested if you have more information about DETZ. Does the name still exist in (former) Hungary?
