Not related and not researching this surname. A surname DJES^KA and DIES^KA lists in Slovak Republic's phone book.

No, I don't have a place of birth for my ancestor becaus everyone who could tell me that is dead.

In order to proceed with the research, in the newly formed countries after the break up of Hungary :
http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/austhung.htm you will need to know where the village is he/she was born in. Will it be Slovak Republic, Austria, Hungary,Poland, Ukraine etc.?
Was your ancestor naturalized citizen? Have social security numbers? http://ssdi.rootsweb.com Can you find your ancestor in a 1930 census? That is the census that would have Na-naturalized or Al-alien. Do you know what "language" was spoken at home?

Hello,
My name is Diana Francis Dieska. My father is Bernard Ludwig Dieska (still living). My grandfather was Stephen "Ben" Dieska (deceased). I always believed the family name was Czech. "Djeska" loosley translated, 3-legged stool. I always believed the family to be farmers or cobblers.

Hello Diana!

The surname is Slovakian. There might be some mistake about being Czech cause those two countries were one before. But it's definitely Slovakian.
Being spelled Dieska or Djeska, it's the same surname. The original spelling is Dieska. But it changed during time. You can read more about it on www.dieska.com and mayve find out more about Dieskas'.
