Zlatica : Re: Dravecky
Joe

Do you know where your ancestor was born? You need a name of a village in order to proceed with the research.

The SK's phone site www.zoznamst.sk is listing DRAVECKY. Type a 0 (zero) in area code and you will get all the phone listings for surname Dravecky.

www.iabsi.com/gen/public all there for researching
www.slovakfolkcrafts.com
www.centroconsult.sk
www.our-slovakia.com

6 DRAVECKYs, 14 DRAVECZKYs, and 8 DRAVECZKIs came thru Ellis Island. www.ellisislandrecords.org You might want to take a look at the manifests.

Vivian: Re: Dravecky Family Homepage
According to the 1897 directory of leaseholders and landowners, my great-grandfather Markusz Moskovits farmed 530 Hungarian acres (kataszteri hold) in Bunkocz owned by Maria Dráveczky and Janos Mariassy. Bunkocz, now Bunkovce, is west of Ostrov where my grandmother was born in 1876. Does anyone have more information about the Draveczky family lands?

Rako: Re: Draveczky Ilona 1833?
Kedves Draveczkyek - Dear Draveczkys!

A mormonok feltették a Széchenyi-Könyvtár gyászjelentés-gyüjteményét az internetre:
The mormons created a new database with the Funeral/Death Notices collection of the Hungarian National Széchenyi Library:
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1542666;t=browsable;w=0;p=2

In this collection I found one of the beginning of the 19.th century. Ilona Draveczky von Dravecz, buried in Ocsa in Hungary. Her husband was a Rakovszky, but the bottom af the page is missing, so neither his name, nor the datum of the death is known.

Ezért szeretnék segítséget kérni itt is, hátha valaki tudja, hogy lehet több adatot találni.

Therefore I ask you, if you can help to find more about the persons concerned.

Jay7: Re: Draveczky Ilona 1833?
We know of 2 Ilonas in our family tree:

1. Daughter o Laszlo Draveczky and one of his wifes, either Maria Draveczky nee Luby, or Julia Draveczky nee Okolicsanyi. This Ilona died in 1892.

2. Daughter of Gyula Draveczky and either Emma Draveczky nee Latinovics or Erzsebet Draveczky nee Fenyes. This Ilona was born in 1884.

Please see www.dravecky.org for the family tree.

I might have more information on that but unfortunatelly no time to take a look now - sorry.
