I am researching the Drotos Family who were from Borsad Abeju Zemplen. My grandfather, Joseph (Jozsef) Drotos was born Mar 6 1886 and came to the US on Sep 20, 1901. Records from the ship show that he was from Rakaca at the time. His father was named Joseph also and came to the US earlier and settled in Monongahela Pennsylvania. I believe also a cousin (also named Joseph Drotos) came over in November 1901 who was born in 1882 or 1883. The ship records show this Joseph Drotos coming from Abagy (but I'm wondering if the spelling is (or translation)correct).

I know that there was Drotos family still living in the 1930's or 1940's in Borsod Abeju Zemplin including a woman named Juli.

Any help on locating further information about my family would be appreciated.

The village of Rakacz (Rakaca) is in Borsod megye, Hungary.
It does look like Abagy/Abogy on the manifest but maybe it should be Abod which is in Borsod megye.
Using One step/ gold form www.stevemorse.org only DROTOS Jozsef from Abogy so than an error occurred in spelling of a village. About 8 DROTOSs came thru EI from Abod.
