We are interested to trace any living relatives of Mr. Zsigmond Dub, born in Budapest (1904). Father: Ferenc (Ferdinand) Dub and mother Antonia Wiener (born in Nyitra/Nitra).

My grandmother was Izabella Fischer, nee Dub, born Budapest 1912, died Auschwitz 1944. I understand Dub is not a common name in Budapest. Izabella's brother was Bela Dub, and she also had a sister and cousins. This is all the information I have, but I do also know that members of the Dub family emigrated to the US by 1946.

DUB is a Slavic word meaning oak (tree)
Small numbers of DUB still in Slovak Republic's phone book.

Hi Gary, I saw your mail. My wife's maiden name is Dub. Her father was Zsigmond. He left Hungary in 1946. Zsigmond was born in 1904 and he had a sister Maria, who also left Hungary. I have made some genealogical research in the Dubs and i am going to contact you via a mail address you may provide. I have some names which may be of help. I also know about the rarity of the name Dub, so I guess there may be arelationship. The father of Zsigmond Dub was Ferenc Dub. He and his wife (my wife's granparents) are buried in Kozma Str. Jewish cemetery in Budapest. There are quite a few descendants of Zsigmond Dub in Norway. Please contact. Best regards: Peter Csango

vivian: DUB fm Maramaros

My great-great grandmother Rikel DUB died in Maramarossziget about 1862. She was married to Hers Joszpipovits. DUB family may be from Karacsonfalva or Bardfalva. Please contact me if you have any information.
