My grandmother, Maria M. Cekel (b: September 08, 1872 in Marcu Shovec, Czechoslovakia d: March 18, 1946 in Struthers, OH USA) was the daughter of Stefan Cekel (Csekal) and Maria Dzuricza . Please contact me if you are researching these families. I have many generations of informations to share.

I think the correct spelling of the village is Markusovce, Slovak Republic. http://mapy.atlas.sk
Not researching the surname.
The area code 53 of the phone book, which would include Markusovce, is listing surname C^EKEL in Spisska Nova Ves.
www.zoznamst.sk The surname DZURICA lists in area code 51 in Sabinov, Sarisska Poruba and Kapusany. Do post on Slovakia/Slovak Republic's boards like Ancestry, Genforum, www.iabsi.com/gen/public http://slovakia.eunet.sk www.slovaklinks.com etc.

The DZURICZAs that came thru Ellis Island were mostly from Kapivagas/Kapiragas/Kapivagasa which is present Sarisska Poruba and Kapi which is Kapusany. Take a look also at DZURICAs manifests.
Susanna CSEKEL is from Jglo / Iglo = Spisska Nova Ves.
2 CZEKELYs from Tepliczka, CEKEL from Markusfalu/ Markusovce. Use One Step and thus you can locate people that came from a particular village. Do not overlook close (mis)spelling. www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellis.html
