Jane Scanlon: Janos Fikner
I am trying to find relatives of my father who fled Hungary to Canada in the late 50s. He was born in 1938 in ACS but his family lived in Komorom me ACS. Any information would be useful. He had a half sister but I don't know her name.

janescanlon: Janos (John) Fikner
I am trying to find relatives of my father Janos. He was born in January 1938 in ACS. I know he had a half sister but I do not know her name, his mother married twice. They lived in Komarom. He fled to Canada where he met my mother and married her. They had six kids but we know nothing about my father's side of the family. Unfortunately he died in 1979. Any help or information on his family would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Joseph. I'll need to write a letter of introduction that I can mail shot to any Fikner listed in the telephone directory and hope that someone is related. Give me a bit of time to write something out and I will email it to you. This would be really helpful and I really appreciate it. Thanks again and will be emailing you soon.

Jane, I find you in the strangest of places. As for the letter of the family. I have it half translated and find that you are further ahead than I thought. I will call you soon.
