Lisiane Flath: Hi!
Hi! My name is Lisiane Flath and I'got surprised when I found my surname in this site. I live in Brazil, and here there's no other Flath but my family wich is too small. It's just 4 people. My grandfather came from Poland, around 1924 with his family. Her daddy, named Rudolf Flath, was born in Pabjanice, Poland. I don't know much about their past, all I know is the passport with some notes. I'm so glad to find someone in Europe with my surname! I would like very much if you could answer this message.
Thank you.
Lisiane Flath

Zlatica : Re: Hi!
Hi

In 1990 census of names there were 3 FLATHs in Poland.
www.herby.com.pl/herby only in Polish and only distribution. You might want to post on Poland's Genforum and Ancestry board.
www.pgsa.org
http://maxpages.com/poland
www.rat.de/kuijsten/navigator
www.pilot.pl for locating a town in Poland
www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm (mapquest)
There are two towns named Pabianice.
Coming to America thru Ellis Island were 43 FLATHs. www.ellisislandrecords.org After you register use One Step www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellis.html From Pabianice a Gustav and Alfred. Some distant relative, maybe.

I was surprised very much when I found your post and found out that your ancestor was born in Pabianice:)
Perhaps you'd like to know more about Pabianice, about Poland?:)If so, I'd be glad very much:) If you don't mind, we may become penpals. What do you think of it?
I look forward to hearing from you:)

Harry Flath: Re: Hi!
Hello Lisiane,
I have been trying to send you an email but I don't know whether or not I have been successful. My father, Otto Flath, emigrated to Canada in 1927 from Moszczenicae, Poland which is about 16 km from Pabjanice, Ploand. His father, Martin Flath, emigrated in 1914 with 3 other sons. He also emigrated from the Lodz area.
I would love to hear from you. We must be related.
Harry
