My last name is Focsko. Grandparents spelled it Foczko...Grandfather Janos. Came to America. Anyone related?????

You need to locate a name of a town in order to proceed to locate distant relatives.

2 FOCSKOs and 6 FOCZKOs passed thru Ellis Island.
A spelling FOCKO exists in Slovak Republic and a listing actually shows up in Zlata Idka which was Aranyidka and some of Foczko/Focsko were from that village.

I met several Foczko families there in Zlata Idka recently, I think that your ancestors came from Zlata Idka.

Thank you both for answering. I have my grandparents death certificates which would tell the towns they were born in. I have to find them. My grandmother was a Toth which is a common name, Im sure Thanks again Joanne

My grandfather (either or my dad's father, or my mum's father) came from Zlata Idka (Slovakia). I think he was the father of my mum. He changed his name from Foczko to Füredi. He died november 2005 in the age of 90.
He was working in the Machine Plant DIGEP of Miskolc in Northern Hungary, from this plant he went to pension.

My great-grandfather and his brother and sister came from Zlata Idka, also last name of Foczko. There are Foczko's who settled in Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I'd be interested in sharing information.
