roy m fogner: Finding Ancestors
I am a fourth generation Fogner from North Carolina in the U.S. Little is known of our ancestry except what has been passed down from my great grandfather verbally to my father, and then to me. We do know if Fogner is the correct spelling and Hungary is the origin of our ancestors, but we have found this to be the only area that Fogner appears outside the U.S. We found information in a website called The Grand Banks Newfoundland. This only told us of two men who were involved there in the fishing trade. Their names were Jesper Fogner (Faulkner) and James Fogner (Feigner). Their names also appear in a document about the Wild Rice Orphanage in Twin Valley, Minnesota as residents. No ancestors/parents/or sybling are noted. In the Radix Forum we saw Fogner listed in the U.S.and we know these relatives. We see also Fogner's in Norway, Canada, and Hungary. We only have one name to go by as a possible link. My greatgrandfather was Lee Anders or Anders Lee Fogner who was married to Mary Louisa Champion (Fogner) and she was from Warren County, North Carolina. Any help and facts which may help us would be more than appreciate. You may email me at the email address listed or on this site. Thank you in advance. Roy M. Fogner
