I'm Leandro Fruhvald, I leave in Brazil, in fact I'm Brazilian. I would like to understand a litle bit more about my grandfather's surname. He is died so I will appreciate any information You can send me as place were it (surname) probably came, if is a commum surname or noT ....

The surname FRUHVALD (with umlauts on U) lists in Slovak Republic's phone book. www.zoznamst.sk
There were 6 FRUHWALDs that came thru Ellis Island to America. You might want to take a look at the manifests.

You need to locate a place of birth of your grandfather in order to proceed with the research into the "old country".
