K: Giczi Family

Looking for relatives of Istvan Giczi who immigrated to Australia in 1950 married Julianna Skutely. Istvan born around 1917. Had 1 sister name unknown.Relatives of Julianna brother I think immigrated to US. Julianna had a family of 5 siblings one brother killed by a bomb from WW1. Father a tailor.Maybe family name connection Nagy?

In response to this message, we know the family. They are now located in country NSW, Australia since arriving in the country in 1950. Istvan and his wife Julianna had one daughter in Germany born in 1946. They had another daughter in 1951 after arriving in Australia. Istvan died in 1985.

Both daughters married and have children.

Istvan was the middle child and he had a brother and sister. His brother had two sons. Julianna is indeed one of five siblings and one of her brothers did die from a bomb accident during WW1 and her father was a tailor.

The family is unaware of any living relatives in Hungary or elsewhere. Do you have any information?

Are you related to Giczi Istvan?
We know Istvan's father was born in 1886, Sárszent Míklós. Died 1938 in Budapest, he was a cooper (keg maker) by trade and was one of 22 children (6 boys, 16 girls). He was injured in WW1.
Are Ajka and Mártonné Giczi Éva related to Giczi Istvan?
Do you have any further information about the Giczi Istvan's family?
We have more details on the Australian connection - are you comfortable replying in English as our Hungarian is limited?

Ajka is a city in Hungary. I remember the Giczi family there. Százhalombatta is also a city. MATAV telephone listing can give you all the Giczi's of Hungary. It is not a very common name.
Try Giczi Kálmán in Ajka.

Re original message Julianna's brother was killed during WWII; he and friends were throwing stones into a bomb site and an unexploded bomb exploded and killed him.
Istvan Giczi was born 22 March 1916 in Majsamikló Vár.
Do you have any way of contacting him to see if he is the K Giczi and pass on this email address. Thank you for any help in this matter.

Sorry, i have not seen these people for many years. I remember them well, and looked up the information for you.You most likely don't speak Hungarian, do you?
I live in Canada and would have to call from here. If you know any hungarian speaking person, you could call these Giczi's.I have no information on e-mail contacts.
BUT! I will see what i can do to help through other people.I had great success to help some people to find their ancestor's past.

I ve got Giczi in my familytree. Giczi Julianna was born in a small village 1852 (Barbacs) and died about 1923 in Rabacsanak, two villages further.(Moson-Sopron-Gyor county). This county is neighbour to Austria, the Fejer county (to which Sarszentmiklos belongs) and Veszprem county (Ajka).

For the moment I don t have got more info because this line I haven t started yet for research. A lot of Giczi-families are living in Barbacs. They must originated from Gic (Veszprem county) and is a very old Hungarian family. Giczi Julianna married to Perger and is the gandmother of my grandmother.

I m Budai Peter. My father Budai Laszlo was born Bagyogszovat, next to Barbacs. We live in Belgium, Europe.

Testvére az én nagy dédapja volt nős, egy Giczi Vendel. Azt geheisen Keczöl Rozália és meghalt 11.01.1924, ő élt Bogyoszlón.

Az én nagyapám Giczi Vendel, nagyanyám Csiszár Anna volt. Édesapám Giczy István 1913-ban született. Hatan voltak testvérek: István, Kálmán, Alajos, Anna, Mária és Gizella. Sajnos nem igazán ismerem a rokonságot, édesapám elveszítettem 1978-ban (18 éves koromban). Keresem rokonaimat.
