There were 4 GLUVAKOVs that passed thru Ellis Island port to America. Maybe their manifests might provide a clue to your research.

The Serbian phone site is listing few Gluvakovs.

There are some Gluvakoves here in Toronto Canada as well.... The first generation of the Gluvakov's were my our grandparents both Serbians, then their two sons, and now us, the grandchildren. Although I personally do not carry the last name Gluvakov, my father, uncle and cousins do. Please do not hesitate to email me, as I would love to share the news with my family.

My mother's maiden name was Gluvakov, She was born in a small village in Yugoslavia, Elimer. My grandfather's name was Wasa and grandmother's name was Anna. She had one sister Magdalana, two brothers Alexander and Joseph. My mother was a nurse during the war in Austria and came to to the USA in 1953 with three children, she later had two more. I am interested to find more information on their ancestors.

Hello, My name is Ruth Pattillo, I came to Alabama in 1953. My mother was Anna Maria Gluvakov. She came from a little village called Elmire in then Yugoslavia. She was a nurese in Austria during the war. After the war she met my father who was a american soldier. Her father was Wasa Gluvakov, mother Anna Lorenz Gluvakov, sister Magdalana, brothers Joseph and Alexander. I'd like to hear from you.

Hi Anita,
You are probably thinking of Elemir, which is in the region of Serbia called Vojvodina. My father is from Vojvodina, the place called Zrenjanin, which is close to Elemir, which is really a small village in Vojvodina, Serbia.
Google it up and it will come up on the Google maps.
