Nadine Hardin: Gocza Janos and Loczi Katherine

Researching Rosa GOCZA, born December 25, 1885 in Blagorodovac, Pozsega County (Slavonia), Hungary as the daughter to John (Janos) Gocza and Katherine Loczi. Came to the U.S. November 11, 1906 to join her husband in Conway, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; Husband, Alexander Farkas, was also born in Blagorodovac, Pozesga County, Hungary, as well as his sister, Anna, and his brother Stephen (Stephan). The families eventually settled in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.

The town of Blagorodovac seems to be in Croatia.

She did pass thru Ellis Island in 1906 from Blagorodovac. Her manifest is under Rosi FARKAS.

The name FARKAS and LOCI does list in Croatia's phone book.

my name is Darnai Jozsef Agoston. My grand-grandmother, who was born on the 17th of April, 1896, in Croatia and died on the 23th of November, 1984, in Hungary, is the little sister of Rose Gocza.

How wonderful of you to reply. I would love to share what information of have of Rosa (Gocza) Farkas. Rosa married my grandmother's brother, Alexander Farkas, and they had four beautiful children. I would love to learn more about Rosa's family as well.

Nadine,

I am the grand daughter of Ilona and Karl Gocza. My mother has been searching for her ansestry for many years and has not found much. My grandparents came to the US between 1955 and 1965. They are both deceased, but have 5 children! 2 of which were born in hungry (or not in the US) and 3 of which were born in the US. My mother seems to think she has aunts and uncles in Hungry and perhaps even another sister. Good luck with your search. I hope my mother can come up with something as well!
