rampride73: Anna Graf & Janos Reitenbach
Dear Friend,
I am looking for genealogy information for my grandparents. I have
reason to believe that my Grand Mother and her family were from
Apatin, Hungary. I was told by another family member that my
Grand Mother met my Grand Father while cleaning homes in another
village just outside of Apatin. My Grand Mother told my mom that she
lived in Wien, Austria as a little girl. My Grand Mother told my cousin
she was Bavarian.

If you are a relative or can help me find relatives in Wien, (Vienna) Austria,
or Apatin, Hungary please contact me.

Janos (John) Reitenbach
Born: 1882-1883 (exact date unknown)
Possibly from Osijek.

Anna Graf
Born: December 31, 1886 in Apatin Hungary
Anna lived in Vienna Austria as a child.
1912 ship manifest Anna lists Josef Graf as her father.

Married in Austro-Hungary (exact date unknown)

John and Anna came to the United States on June 12th, 1907 on the ship LaProvence.
They lived in St. Louis, MO from 1907-1911, then moved to Akron, Ohio in 1912.

Anna returned to Austria in 1911 with her oldest son John. She gave birth to her daughter Ann while visiting in Apatin, Hungary. Ship records indicate that daughter Ann was 10 months old when they returned to the United States in 1912.

Children:
John, Ann, Peter, Joseph, Frank, Theresa (Grace), Paul, & Katherine

Sincerely,
Michael Reitenbach

pbrew,

A map of Austria-Hungary:
http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/austhung.htm
There was a town named Stajerlakanina (closes in spelling to Annina)in Krasso-Szoreny megye.

If your ancestors married in the "old country" than the villages would be within 10 miles radius. If they married in the "new land" anything goes.
What I am saying is that if your SEVCIK is from Blansko than GRAF (if married in the old country) should be from the same area of present Czech Republic.
Just located a Roza GRAF coming thru EI in 1905 from Anina.
There seems to be Anina in Romania,Annina(o)in Russia, Annin in Czech Republic. www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm
