dottiedd: Locating family

I am searching for Istvan Harsany in Buj, Hungary, Szabolcs County. He would have lived in the 1800's and was a wheelwright by trade. His wife, I believe, was Rosalie Bessenyi, mother of Emilia Emma)Terhes, wife of Samuel. Emma and Samuel's daughter, Borbala, immigrated to the United States in 1914.Please contact me if you have any information.

The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) website is listing church records of Buj, Szabolcs megye, Hungary. You can order the films and gather ancestral information.
111 HARSANYIs came thru Ellis Island but none were from Buj. You might want to take a look at the manifests. www.ellisislandrecords.org

Thank you for your quick response. I have located family that have come through Ellis Island via their website to the United States and have viewed their ship's manifest. Istvan Harsanyi never came to the US. I will, I think, need to write to Vital Statistics to the County, Szabolcs, or perhaps the town, Nagyhallaus (?), or the village, Buj. To date, I have had no luck with the Mormon site for family members who have lived and died in US.

Your welcome.
If your ancestor was born in Buj, than the church records should have the information that you are looking for. You would order the church films by the name of a village (here in USA) and go thru them to make a family tree.
The LDS site is listing church records of Nagyhalasz.

Szeretném megtalálni nagybátyámat, Harsányi Gábort, aki kb. 1954-ben, talán 5 éves korában, de még kisfiú korában ment ki az Amerikai Egyesült Államokba.Édesapja Harsányi Miklós karmester és hegedűművész volt. Édesanyját Furka Gizellának hívták, ő volt a nagymamám. Nagy valószínűséggel Amerikában, vagy Ausztráliában él...
