Ed Holzinger: Re: Holzinger
I am looking for information concerning the immigration of Frank (Ferencz)Holzinger (there may have been a "c" before the "z"). He was born in 1890. He first immigrated to the USA in April of 1907. He was naturalized in 1915. But, prior to that he returned to Szepfalu, Temes, Hungary, probably in late 1909. He then returned to the USA with his father Valentine (born 1867) and my father, also Valentine (born 1896), in early 1910. The "1910" date comes from the 1930 census. I am unable to find any information about the three of them coming to the USA in 1910.

I am unable to find any information about the three of them coming to the USA in 1910. I know, from his Naturalization record, that Frank came to New York, New York on the Pannonia on 25 April 1907 but I have yet to find the Ship records. In 1915 Frank and his wife Rose lived at 424 Dearborn St. in Buffalo. I believe that part of the family lived in Tanawanda. By the 1920 census, they were all living in Southern California.

I used www.stevemorse.org and arriving April 24, 1907 on Pannonia a HOLZINGER JOZSEF.

Ed Holzinger: Re: Holzinger
Sandra,

I responded to your message a week ago. In case you did not receive it. I have information about Holzinger (some times spelled Holczinger)from Szepfalu Hungary. They immigarting to New York, USA in 1907 and 1910. They first settled around Buffalo New York and then Southern California. Frank, age 17 came in 1907. Franks father, Valintine Sr., and younger brother,Valintine Jr., along with Frank (who returned to Hungary for a few months)came in early 1910. In late 1910, Frank's mother Victoria, younger sister Elisabeth, and younger brother john (Janos) joined them.

Please respond if you get this message.

Ed Holzinger: Re: Holzinger
Dear Zlatica,

Thank you for your response messages (2). You found a Holzinger, Jozsef aboard the Pannonia (24 April 1907)by using www.stevemorse.org, I have been unable to find the Pannonia passenger list. I will try again. By the way, there were three generations of Valentines going back to the early 1800's when Szepfalu (then Schondorf) was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Your other message said you found a Baluil (Balint on a manifest), father and son arriving in 1910 going to Tanavanda, New Jersey. I found a Tanawanda, New Jersy on google (close enough) and it is near Buffalo new York. You did not say what the ship's name was and what date it came into New York. If you can provide me with that information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your help.

Zlatica : Re: Holzinger
Your welcome Ed.

By using www.ellisislandrecords.org I found 4 Jozsef HOLZINGERs which includes the one that arrived on Pannonia.

Using the same site I typed Baluil HOLZINGER in the windows and got two of them coming thru EI.
Baluil as a 14 years old arrived on Ultonia as did his father. You know that you can view the manifest? They were going to a brother-in-law BER.EL Johan living in Tonavanda, NY.
I see I made a mistake. The state is New York.

Mike Vormittag: Holzinger Family from Schoendorf
I am a descendant of Paul Holzinger (1804-1874) through his daughter Victoria (1842-??). Victoria married Michael Schuss in Schöndorf and had a son also named Michael Schuss in 1871. If this might into your family trees, I'd be happy to get any information on Holzinger descendants.
