| Hoppania: Any ancestors in Hungary? | There are something like 150 persons in Finland who have Hoppania as surname. Nobody knows where this name has come from. I'm just wondering if this surname could have come from Hungary. It appears the first time in Finnish official documents in 1754 when Grigorij Hoppania got married in Carelia. Is it possible that this Grigorij or his father or grandfather or ... could have been Hungarians?
