Village Korumlya, Hungary is now Koromla, Slovak Republic.
Surname LUKAC'KO (Lukacsko is Hungarian spelling)shows up in Koromla's phone book. www.zoznamst.sk
Do check LDS-Mormons site for the church films which you can order and gather ancestral information.

bbleslie03: Re: hrenyo
Greetings from Florida!

My great grandmother was Anna Hrenyo (her maiden name).
She was born Feb. 8 1884 (or 1883)in Koromlya, Slovakia.
She had a sister Julia (Gulia) and brother Mike. She also had a half-brother Joseph Hrenyo who supposedly ended up in South America or Puerto Rico. She came to the US in 1903 on a ship called Barbarossa and married George Maricak I believe in 1905. My grandmother was also named Anna, as seems to be the tradition from that region. My Grand mother had about 5 siblings.
I hope this help both of us. It is difficult to get info on that part of the world due to so much political change. But this website is great!

Good luck and stay in touch!

Have you checked the LDS-Mormons website for church records? You can order them and gather ancestral information.
Have you posted on Ancestry and Genforum?
Surname HREN'O (HRENYO is Hungarian spelling) shows up in area code 056 but none in Koromla. www.zoznamst.sk
Check out this site for research in SK:
www.iabsi.com/gen/public
3 MARICAKs did come thru Ellis Island and that surname shows up in Eastern region of SK in area code 051, 052, 053, 054 and 055.
I am not researching those surnames.
