	ellie: IGNACZ, IGNATKO In 1902, at age 15, my g-mother ELSIE ELIZABETH IGNATKO, IGNACZ -- emigrated from Berencs, Retkozberencs (Szabolcs) -or- from Berencs (Nyitra), Hungary (now: Branc (Nitra okres) (Nitriansky kraj, after Slovakia annexation). From the port of Bremen, aboard the ss Cassel. If I have found the correct manifest, g-mother came to Passaic, NJ and an acquaintance of travel companion: 26-yr old Zuza KOSZTKA. 	Zlatica: Re: IGNACZ, IGNATKO Ellie Just thought I let you know (which I think I already posted this information someplace to your post) that the village of Mandok is North of Retkozberencs. Both are in the same megye/ county, close to Slovak Republic and Ukraine. Still far away from the Nitra region of Slovak Republic. www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm (mapquest) I still do not undestand why would she change her surname from IGNACS to IGNATKO. I know the manifest says Eozsa Ignaoz but that is wrong it should be Erzsa Ignacz. 	Bodisz: Ignácz János - John Ignácz Kárpátalaja (Ukrajna), Ung-megye, Téglás nevű településén élt Ignácz dédnagyapán, Ungváron is építtetett házat. Dédnagyapám, Ignácz János 1900-as évek eljén vándorolt ki Amerikába, ahol bányászként majd pincérként dolgozott. 15 év után tért haza mikor is vége lett az első világháborúnak és üknagyanyám a halálán volt. Hívták újra Amerikába ottani barátai, de helyette öccsét küldte, aki ott végleg letelepedett ás leszármaazottai még mai is feltehetően Amerikában laknak. Ignácz János később a nevét Szabó-Ignáczra változtatta, mert sok volt az Ignácz a faluban. Nagymamám (a lánya) már Szabó Ilona néven ismert. A mellékelt képen dédnagyapán amerikai utlevelén lévő kép.
