| rkayuha: Re: ISKI | I am Bob's brother Ross. Josef Kayuha and Borbala Isik were my grandparents. I visited Gavavencsello where Borballa was from and Kenezlo where Josef was from back in 1991. I found a middle-aged woman in Kenezlo who's maiden name was Kayuha(I don't have her married name). Her father had just died within the past six months. I took pictures but they were taked away by the Soviets at a border later that week. I also visited a family with the surname "Iski" in Gavavencsello. However, they had no memory of my grandmother or her brothers Andy and Frank.
My father had many funny stories of his Uncle Gabor, and I believe his Uncle Andy and his mother Borballa were twins.
Borbala arrived in the US with her first child Josef on 09/16/1909 as Borbala Kajuha. She and Josef had five children: Josef born in Hungary in 1907, Ferenc (Frank) born in the US in 1910, Sandor (Alex) born in 1913?, Charles (my father) born in 1916, and Bertha Goldie born in 1920?.
I found records of a Zsuzsa Kajuha arriving the same day, but I don't have any memories of stories about her.
I also I found records of a Andras Kajuha arriving on 06-14-1902. I don't have any memories of stories about him either.
I remember stories of Uncle Gabor being a mechanic for a bus company in Cleveland and another uncle owning a grocery store on Buckeye Avenue in Cleveland, but I'm not sure which uncle it was.
