Kathleen Parr: Magalone Ivan
I am researching Magalone Ivan, I am not sure of the correct spelling.
My, grandfather is her son, Jŕnos Tako, b. 16th March 1886
Hoszupersteg, Austria, Hungary.
I am not sure of the spellings, if someone could help?

I am not sure if Joseph Tako from Vashosszufalu was married
to Magalone Ivan and they had Jŕnos Tako. Any help would be appreciated.

Zlatica : Re: Magalone Ivan
Kathleen

Is the name Magalone (sp?)first or last name.
Why not Hungarian spelling of Janos but Ivan, if Ivan is a first name.

Zlatica : Re: Magdalena IVAN
Kathleen

Hosszupereszteg and Vashosszufalu are in Vas megye, Hungary.

IVAN shows up in Vashosszufalu's phone book.
www.magyartelekom.hu/fooldal.vm
So than IVAN is the surname and the female's first name is Magdolna, Magdalena, Magda.

p.s. I should have researched before I send off the previous e-mail. My error.

Kathleen Parr: Re: Magalone Ivan
Hello Zalatica,

I am still not sure of spelling, I keep rereading my grandfather, Jŕnos Tako's death certificate. He died
09 November 1940, Cleveland, cuyahoga, Ohio
It states on his death certificate that his father was
Joszef Tako and his mother was Magdalena Istvan. But, another relative corrected me and said it was spelled
Magalone surname was [Ivan]. They were born in Transylvania. They left Transylvania and then their residence was vashosszufalu and hosszupereszteg.
Jozsef my gr-grandfather was a blacksmith. Maybe I am not explaining correctly, I was also told that my grandfather
Tako, Jŕnos was b. Keter??
Then I just found out that my grandmother who married , Tako
Jŕnos was from Vesprem Vasnari Corzabar Austria Hungary.
my grandmothers name was Mary Rose Gordone, also just found out that was her step-fathers last name [Gordone] she was actually born Mary Rose [possible surname of Hurdo]cannot find that anywhere I am sure Hurdo was not the correct spelling. Now I was just contacted and they said that
it wasnt Hurdo but something that sounds like Beldak.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Zlatica : Re: Magalone Ivan
Kathleen

You know how "important" was spelling in those old days right, that is why sometimes it is so hard to find a document. The death certificate might not be where one would find a correct spelling. Transylvania as in Fogaras megye?
BELDAK if an Americanized spelling it can be BALDAK, HURDO a HURDA, KETER, found few in Poland, GORDONE a GORDON that too found in Poland,
There is a town Herczegszabar in Baranya megye, Zalaszabar in Zala megye, Zabar in Gomor megye,
Maybe Vasnari is Varsany, Veszprem megye.
Take a look in www.bogardi.com to see if you find anything close for the spelling of a town in Veszprem megye that you have.
First name translation website: http://topolcsanyi.alphalink.com.au/names I do not see an Hungarian female first name ending in " e ".

Maab: Vas-megyei Ivánok
Egyik anyai dédapám második felesége volt Iván Jusztina (1875.07.08. Szombathely). Az ő apja Iván István kőművesmester (1851), édesanyja Gál Rozália (1856). A család házasságkötésükkor (1874) jelenik meg Szombathelyen és itt születnek gyermekeik. Itt a fórumon merült fel Hosszúpereszteg és Vashosszúfalu neve, melyek igen közel vannak Szombathelyhez. Kérem, hogy aki innen, vagy más Vas-megyei helységből ismer Ivánokat, vagy éppen a szombathelyi Ivánok leszármazottja, írjon.
To Kathleen:
My great-grandfather's second wife was Jusztina Iván. She was born on 8 July 1875 in town Szombathely which is near to Vashosszúfalu and Hosszúpereszteg. His father is Istvan Iván who was born in another place. I'll check these two villages, maybe I find something common.
