millmj1983: Johler
I am attempting to find out any information on my great grandmothers family. So far I have been able to gather that her mother, father,(her self) and brother came over to the US on a ship named the Fredrich der Grosse. The port city that they left from is listed as Bremen but I have been unable to locate their place of residence in Hungary. My great grandmother’s name was Suzana Johler, her mother was also named Suzana, her father was Jakob, and she had a brother Jern. If anyone has info on the Johler surname or any suggestions on where to find more information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the post! The 1910 date matches with the info i have along with the rest of her family and ship from the Ellis Island web site. How did you come across the Torzsa location i could not find it on the Ellis Island site?

Zlatica : Re: Johler
Your welcome.

Need to look on the manifest. That is where I found that she was born in Torzsa. I see that the site has them listed as residing in Buffalo. I think Jren is most likely Iren, a female.

Use one step/gold form www.stevemorse.org and from Torzsa about 400 people. JOKLER most likely a JOHLER just transcribed incorrectly. TOHLER another possibility for transcribed incorrectly JOHLER.
