Yes, I found information in the registers of Evangelical Church of Sajokaza. My grandfather, Martin had a twinsister, Paulina, they were born on 17/09/1891. Another girl was born on 15/02/1894, Juliana. That's all. There must be more. Where can I continue? A brother of Martin emigrated to Pennsylvania. No name, no dates.

You searched for me:SZÕLÕS ARDÓ, This words"Ardo" do they have a meaning? I found it in other village names. Someone asked me to search a village near Dobsina. We cannot read it clearly; it sounds like Golnicz Ardo or Pulnicz Ardo. Have you heard before about something like this? Gollnicz, river? or Gelnica, village?

The short translation of the Hungarian text below from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Publication:

Ardó was the name of settlements established for manage and protect the forests. Actually there was 17 placesnames with Ardó in them, it's from the occupation name "Erdõóvó", Erdõ=Forrest, Óvó=Protector.

"A Kárpát-medencében megtelepedett magyar törzsek földközössége magában foglalta az erdő közös használatát is. Ebből a királyi erdőbirtokok váltak ki legkorábban, melyek a 12. században még az ország területének kétharmadát jelentették. Kormányzásukra külön közigazgatási egységeket, erdőispánságokat (például bakonyi, pataki, tornai, sárosi, zólyomi) szerveztek. Ezek szolgáltató népei voltak az erdőóvók. Emléküket 17 Ardó nevű falu (például Végardó, Szőlősardó, Hídvégardó, Pelsőcardó) őrzi. (Heckenast G. 1970; Györffy Gy. 1966: 413–421). A királyi erdőbirtokok adományozások révén nagyrészt magánföldesúri (egyházi, világi és városi) kézre kerültek."

Is or was there a village "Keil" in old Hungary? In the ellis-island records I found 4 emmigrants from Hungary,1914 coming from KEIL. I searched everything, found nothing. Somebody can help? Thanks to all who wrote me before on other searches.

Keil(-tanya) was a small rural settlement, tanya=farm, homestead in the "boonies", not shown on most maps. Jurisdiction wise belonged to the village of Nagyszurdok in the Banat region:
Place, County(1913), District(1913), Current country
Nagyszurdok Krassó-Szörény Boksánbányai Romania

Romanian name: Surducu Mare;
Hungarian names: Nagyszurdok, Nagyszurduk, Szurdok;
German: Gross-Surduk

You can find Nagyszurdok on this early 1900s County maps of Hungary, in the bottom of the No.2 marked, pink colored Boksanybanyai district of Krasso-Szoreny County:

Searching KAIL Balázs, B 8.02.1886 in Réthát [i.e. Wiesenhaid, Tisa Nouã in today Timis County, Romania], so of deceased Caspar & WELTCH Marianna

KAIL Balázs & BODRI Julianna, were married 18.11.1905, Timisoara, civil marriage in Wiesenhaid

Balazs and Julianna had a son B 9.11.1906, C 18.11., Timisoara Iosefin Parish, BODRI Henrik János András

I have been to Wiesenhaid twice. The first time in 1984 there was an entire family of Kail. The daughter of Mr. Kail is maried to a distant cousin of mine in Phillip who has since emigrated to Bayreuth Germany

Do you have family information about the Kail family that you can share with me?

The only thing that I know about the Kail's is Balazs Kail married Julianna Bodri in 18.11.1905 in a civil service in Timisoara and that they had a son Henrick Kail 9.11.1906 in Iosefin Parish.

Julianna and Balazs Kail immigrated to America in 1910 and that their son Henrick Kail age 4 came to America in 1911 with my grandmother Klara Szende/Szentye.

I have found Henrick Kail's daughter Julia Kail Gormley in
Philadelphia. Julia and I talk often and we are having a very hard time researching for information about our family Kail from Wiesenhaid.

My sister and I just returned from Romania after 6 days we were not able to visit Wiesenhaid. Time got away from us.

I do have some pictures of the Kail family I am searching and a marriage document for Balazs and Julianna Kailalso the baptismal record for their son Henrich Kail born in 1906.

I would appreciate any help that you can share with me about the Kail's from Wiesenhaid, your distant cousin Philip and Bayreuth Germany.
