sherry: Kakuk's
Hello,
Just wondering if you ever found your Kakuk family from Viszlas? I too have Kakuk's from Viszlas, Hungary. My great grandfather was John Kakuk who immigrated around 1907. Settled in southwest, Pennsylvania and he was a coal miner. I know that he had a daughter who stayed in Hungary, Julia Kakuk.

Sherry,
My grandfathers name was also John Kakuk and he had an aunt named Julia Kakuk, I'm wondering if his father, also named John, was her brother. He lived in southwest PA and I'm almost positive he was a coal miner.

sherry: Re: Kakuk's
Jason,
Did your grandfather live in Greene co? Who is your mother or father Kakuk? I don't know of any other Kakuks in that area except for in the 1920 census records there is a George Kakuk living with my Kakuk family. I also see another John Kakuk b. 1902 living in Arnold which is in the northern part of Fayette Co,PA. There is also another child named Julia. This is probably your family. I don't know of any relationship between the two John Kakuk's. It would be really nice to find a connection but I'm pretty sure my John Kakuk came here alone.

The John Kakuk of Arnold would be my great grandfather, his son, also John is my grandfather, and actually arnold is in Westmoreland county, Julia is my grandfathers sister, well was, theyre both passed on but she would have been my great aunt, im sure there is some relation there somehow between our Kakuks.

SHERRY: Re: Kakuk's
I would love to find the connection. I do know that my John Kakuk had a son Louis and daughter Julia with his first wife in Hungary. He came to US and when he went back to get his family, his wife refused to come with him. The children stayed in Hungary also. They divorced and he married here in the states and had my grandmother, Irene. His son Louis immigrated to Canada. Louis married Cecilia Kakuk (yes, the same last name). I've been told that there were 3 different Kakuk families that married into each others families. So that could be our connection.
