zlatica: Kecseti on Ellis Island
There were 13 KECSETIs that passed thru Ellis Island to America and all but one of them are from Nagy Galambfalva,Udv. Hungary.

http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910 is for old 1910 Hungarian megye map.

http://www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm (mapquest)is a good locator when a name of a town is from the old regime.

Check out LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) website for church records which you can order and gather ancestral information.
www.google.com is a good search engine
Post on Hungary's Ancestry board and Genforum.

Thanks for the reply

The Ellis island site was great

I also checked the Morman site and Social Security site.

How can I find out more information about the Kecsetis that came to the US ??

Any thoughts?

thanks

zlatica: Re: Kecseti on Ellis Island
It does depends which way you want to go with the research.
You have time and some money?
You can request the SS-5Forms, naturalization petitions, census on your ancestors.

Is there one particular Kecseti that passed thru EI that is your ancestor?
Check out which state he settled in. Look thru the phone book if the name still in existance there.

Are you in USA?
