Néhány éve itt járt New Yorkból a nagytiszteletű szatmári rebbe, több, mint 1000 hívével, akkor a küldöttség legnagyobb rabbijai a Kestenbaum családból voltak itt, sőt azt is olvastam az egyik honlapon, hogy kivándorlásuk előtt - talán Sátoraljaújhelyen, Íhejen - jesivát is működtettek.
