	Dr. Attila Alexander Kubinyi: a Kubinszky nev eredete / origin of the surname Kubinszky (Excerpt from the History of the Kubinyi Family Surname, by Dr. Attila Alexander Kubinyi, 2006). Today, most members of the Family living in Hungary or originating from Hungarian speaking areas after 1844-1849 follow the “Kubinyi” spelling of the name with the family name in first place followed by the Christian or given name in the case of those living in Hungary and the reverse, that is Christian name first followed by the family name in the case of those living outside the jurisdiction of Hungary. Amongst those members of the family who have originated from predominantly non-Hungarian speaking areas of the country, the commonest versions of the surname that may be encountered are Kubin (especially in German speaking areas where the “von” prefix has been dropped), and Kubinsky, Kubinzky, or Kubinszky (especially in Slav speaking areas). 	takiedus: Kubinszky Mihály püspök A családi legendárium szerint üknagyapám testvére volt Kubinszky Mihály kalocsai püspök (1824-1881). A bizonyításhoz a kutatás folyamatban van. Időközben névelírás történt a hivatalos iratokban, így nagyapámat már Gubrinski néven anyakönyvezték. Aki bármilyen adattal tud szolgálni a családról, legyen szíves ide írjon. 	Ed Frankovic: Re: a Kubinszky nev eredete / origin of the surname Kubinszky Dear Dr. Kubinyi, My grandmother's maiden name was Emelia Kubinsky (born 9 Nov 1882). I am attempting to construct our family tree and was told that her parents possible came from Budapest before they moved to Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia. She had one brother, Louis/Lewis (born 04 Nov 1884), who may not have immigrated to the United States like she and her sister Anna (born 21 Mar 1889) did. Her father´s name was Ludovicus Kubins. The mother of Emilia and Louis was Mary Kukuk, while the mother of Anna was Anna Bolcsak. Ludovicus may have had a third wife, Mary Bolenk. Might you be a descendant of Louis or be related to us in some other way? Your cooperation in helping us trace the Kubinsky family history would be sincerely appreciated. Férjem dédapjának, Kubinszky Lajosnak volt testvére Kubinszky Mihály püspök.A fenti Kubinszky Lajosnak két fia volt, Lajos és Emil. Lajos Nagyváradon született 1874.nov. 13.-án. Családkutatásaim során felhívták figyelmemet,hogy a Kubinszky nevet sokszor elírták.Szívesen szolgálok további adatokkal, ha még érdekli és levélcímet is közöl.
