My grandfather was bor Michael Kurimszky in Nagy Michay, Slovakia in 1884. He emigrated to the United States approximately 1900.

Unfortunately I do not speak or read Hungarian.

6 KURIMSZKYs came thru Ellis Island but none from Nagy Mihaly. None of KURIMSKYs were from Michalovce (Nagymihaly).
NagyMihaly, Zemplen megye, Hungary now Michalovce, Slovak Republic.

I have never been able to find him in any of the Ellis Island databases. Yet very clearly he came from Nagy Mihaly aas evidenced by a 1905 marriage license in NYC.
There is much conflicting information from the Census records so I may never know. Very clearly he was of Hungarian ancestry and did come from that town. I do not know how to find more information.

Michalovce falls into area code 056 www.zoznamst.sk and a KURIMSKY, KURIMSKA (female) in Hrcel.
Have you other documents that substantiate that he was from Nagymihaly? Not far from Hrcel is a village Michalany. Both of them much closer to Hungary. Your ancestor spoke Magyar? What was the maiden name of his wife?
