| Joanne: Kuthen | I have a relative with the name of Kuthan dating back maybe 200 years ago. That person lived in Czech Republic area which may have been called Bohemia at that time. As I understand it, Kuthan/Kuthen/Koten were all expressions of the same name, according to where the person lived...Hungary, Bohemia, Serbia, etc. My family had connections to all those places. My grandfather was born in Serbia, and was married in Budapest. Can anyone shed light on these names, where their origins were, and if they were originally from the tribe of Khan Kuthan (Kuthen) of the Cumans/Cumania?
