The SK's phone site www.zoznamst.sk is listing SEDLAK in town of Malzenice and LACKOVIC' does list in this same area code 33.

Hello Zlatica,
Thank you letting me know about the Sedlak's in Malzenice and the Lackovic in that same area. Many years ago I was in Slovakia with my parents and met a second or third cousin whose last name was Lackovic, but we did not keep in touch. I don't know what town he lived in, but it was somewhere in that area.

The towns are 3 km apart.

Hi. My surname is Laczkó, I live in the Alföld, in Hungary, bur my grandfather lives in North-Hungary, and his grandfather's name was Laczkovics. As is know Laczkos/Laczkovicss came from south-slovakia more than a hundred years ago. I'm also looking for my possible relatives is Hun. and Slovakia.

there is a laczkovics family in vienna, bécs.

as far as i know some generations ago we come from hungary, and before that the poland area... hmmm

a laczkovics in austria is quite a rare thing..

Hi there! My mother is one of the last Laczkovich's in Hungary, since - as far as I know - there are no male Laczkovich's, who have sons...
My father is one of the few Albertini's in Hungary, if anyone would want to know :)
Anyway, if I can, I'm glad to help all of You on the matter of Laczkovich's (or Laczkovics's or the like) in Hungary. As a matter of fact, now I recall, that my brother began to compile a family tree.

Hi,
My great-grandmother's last name was Laczkovics (Borbala). She lived around. She was expulsed from the Laczkovics family as she married to a coalminer - far under her class status. They lived in Salgobanya, Nograd, Hungary. My grandmother never met anybody from her mother's family line. We only new that the family was somehow related to the Festetics family (look family tree in the castle).
Does any of you might be connected to this story? I suppose, there is only one major family line among the Laczkovics, Upper-Hungary.

What do you think about the different varieties of Laczkovics = Lackovic = Laczkovits = Laczkovich? Are they related and the change is only due to registration mistakes or such?
My great-grandma was Laczkovics (Upper-Hungary) who married under her rank (Moravcsik - Salgobanya). Therefore we lost contact with the Laczkovics (who were related somehow to the Festetics family)

Hmm... My mother and her brothers, sisters were/are living in Baranya, South-Western Hungary...

Does anyone know if Lackovic or any of the variations a word as well a name?
The families could be linked. Spellings could easily be changed with the little or no formal education peole had long ago.

Festetics György 1790-ben ezredével Pesten állomásozott, amikor a júniusban összehívott országgyûlésen, mint fõrend, õ is képviseltette magát. A korszak erõs németesítõ törekvéseivel szállt szembe, amikor tiszttársával, Laczkovics János kapitánnyal (akit 1795-ben a Martinovics-féle összeesküvésben való részvétele miatt lefejeztek) együtt az országgyûlés mindkét házához folyamodványt nyújtottak be. Ebben azt kérték, hogy az országgyûlés eszközölje ki a királynál, hogy a magyar ezredek béke idején mindig az országban legyenek elhelyezve, a német tisztek helyett magyarokat alkalmazzanak a hadseregben, valamint a szolgálati és a vezénylõ nyelv a magyar legyen. En Latzkovits Agnes neven szulettem Szegeden. Edesapam Latzkovits Laszlo, feltestverem a Szegedi iro, Latzkovits Miklos. Nem tudom, hogy vajon mi is valamilyen modon a Laczkovics csaladhoz tartozunk? Vagy teljesen kulonbozo?

Kedves Ági!
Nekünk van egy Laczkovits nagymamánk. Tervezzük is a családfájának a kikutatását, de most még a Jancsó dédmamánál tartunk.
A kérdésedre csak úgy lehetne választ adni, ha kikutatnád az anyakönyvek alapján a felmenõidet. Így fény derülhetne a különbözõ név-variánsokra. Mert elõfordul hogy családon belül másképpen írták idõnként a nevet.
Az is elõfordul, hogy egy ág különböztette meg magát így .Hol tartasz az anyagok összegyüjtésében? Szívesen egyeztetünk veled.
Találtam már a szlovák honlapot is, de az üzemeltetõje fiatal ember és nem nagyon ér rá, így a lap nem aktív, a fiú elérhetõ.
Ha volna Skype-od személyesen is beszélhetnénk. (Sztrányai Ildi v. Sztrányai György címen).
Elég sok családtag jelentkezett már a forumon, össze lehetne fogni.
