LOPUSANs and LAPUSANs coming thru EI to America were from Lutisa/Lutis/Latos/Latisa,Trencsen megye, Hungary; now Lutise, Trencin region, Slovak Republic.
No LOPUSAN in Lutise's phone book www.zoznamst.sk
Roman Catholic church records of Lutise in LDS-Mormons site (Family History Center Library).

from Lutisa: 58 people among them LAPUSAN, LOFENSAN/LOFUNSAN,
12 from Lutissa
from Lotos but no obvious Lopusan.
from Latos: LOPUSAN
found a LOPUS^AN and LOPUS^ANOVA (ova a female) in Czech Republic's phone. http://phone.quick.cz They are most likely transplants. Stayed there after army duty or college.
