lowinger: lowinger history debrecen hungary
The Hungarian spelling is Löwinger but there are many derivatives - levinger, lewinger, lovinger - asssigned when people emigrated.

My grandfather was Erno Lowinger from Debrecen, died in the great war. I would like some information on him and his family.

If you are close to LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) check out the church records of Debrecen. You can order them and gather ancestral information.

Do you know his parents name?I have extensive details of the Löwingers, if we can figure that we have common ancestors.

Alas no knowledge of such. My grandmother was Iren Rosenfeld from Nagy Leta (now part of Leta Vertes) who had 3 sons, Kalman, Jozsef and Bela, the last being my father who made it to Malta before the war, where I was born. Any help would be appreciated.
