A hajdúnánási Magyar család ismeri az 1665. jul.28.-án I.Lipót királytól nemességet kapó Magyar Mihály -és azt férfi ágon öröklõ- leszármazottait a mai napig.
Sajnos csak papiron, mert a legszûkebb családon kívûl a valószínûleg kiterjedt familia többi tagja a valóságban számunkra ismeretlen.
Miután most felfedeztem ezt a lehetõséget, reményt látok arra, hogy ennek segítségével a sok Magyar nevû között rokoni kapcsolatokra találhatok, bár még pontosan nem tudom hogyan?

nevem ötömösi Magyar Imre Zsolt, Németoszágban születtem, 1950-óta Braziliában élek.
Családról annyit tudok hogy MAGYAR Gáspár Menyhért Boldizsár ( 1739)-nak 6 fia volt, ötödik fiának - Nepomuki János, sz 1729, egyetlen fia György (sz.1757)volt.
Ennek két fia :Pál és Imre.
Ennek az Imrének, férfi ágon én vagyok az utolsó leszármazotja.

I have very little to go on. My mother , her mother and father and her grandparents all came to America around 1904.
My mother's maiden name was Magyar and I understand that is a common name her mother was a Paulin. My great uncle was John Paulin . I thought perhaps it would be easier to trace that part of the family . He married Agnes with no
children but adopted my mother's brother Alex. That would be
John and Agnes Paulin adopted their sister's child when
both parents died .

From EllisIsland.org, these Magyar and Paulin families seems traveling together from Balaton-Keresztur to Lorain, Ohio. It's not 1904, no Agnes, but there is a son Magyar Sandor=Alex and the father Paulin Janos=John, hopefully there are connections, it would be too much odd against to be just a coincident.
Today the towns name written as Balatonkeresztúr, it's at the western end of the big lake of Balaton in western Hungary.

Yes! Thank you. Sandor age 33 and Marget age 19 would be my grandparents and little Marget age 1 yr is my mother! Her brother Alex was born in Lorain. Janos and Rosa Paulin would be my great grandparents. Evidently their son , also a John either came earlier or perhaps later and he married an Agnes but I don't know her maiden name. They adopted my uncle Alex Magyar making him Alex Paulin. Sandor and Marget both died quite young in Loraine and uncle John Paulin worked as a draftsman for Fisher Bodies in Detroit and was an artist being written up in the newspaper.

Foro can be written also as Forro, so I searched Janos for both spellings but couldn't find him yet, but I believe found his wife Erzsebet arriving from Balatonkeresztur:

EllisIslad.org transcribed records understandably have many mistakes, but luckily they have good search programs and the original scanned Manifests, so most cases the lost data can be found. In my last Post mentioned Erzsebet Forro previous trip, which is noted on her record, is like that.
With help from my own experiences I was able to find her under Torro, destination husband John Forro in Lorain, Oh.

I believe found Janos Forro at EllisIsland.org also as Torro, destination was cousin Jozef Czirak in Lorain, Oh. He was not from Balatonkeresztur but from the nearby Vors, see below all the three places are in the same Marczali District of Somogy County:

Eddig azért nem válaszoltam, mert nem voltam biztos benne, hogy egy és ugyan azon Magyar családhoz tartozunk. Tegnap voltam Nánáson és 1706-ig sikerült visszakövetni a családot.
A könyvtárban van egy könyv melynek szerzõje Dr. Herpay Gábor, címe: Nemes családok Hajdúvármegyében.Ez egy 1926-os kiadás, melynek 182.oldalán van egy rövid leírás a felmenõimrõl.Ebbõl kiderül, hogy a közvetlen leányági leszármazottja vagyok Magyar Bálint Imrenevû unokájának, aki 1838.02.05-én nemesi bizonyságlevelet kapott Szabolcs vármegyétõl. Ebbõl a levélbõl derül ki az is, hogy a felmenõim már 1794.05.26-án is nyertek egy nemesi bizonyságlevelet szintén Szabolcs vármegyétõl, mely ha minden igaz, akkor bárói címet jelent.
Az 1838-as nemesi címjegyzékbe bekerült István, Bálint, Imre, Mihály, Péter és Sándor is. A levelek, ha igaz, akkor a Nyíregyházi levéltárban vannak. Ráadásul megtaláltam a fondjegyzékben a Magyar család iratait is. Jó lenne egyszer belenézni.

A debreceni református leányiskola (Dóczi) 1887/88-as értesítõjében olvasni, hogy a tanév során meghalt Magyar Mária tanuló szülei lefotóztatták a temetésre összegyûlt diákokat és tanárokat, s minden jelenlévõ kapott 1 fotót. Ez legalább 30 darabot jelentett.
Kérek mindenkit, aki birtokában lenne ilyen fotónak, vagy tudna róla, jelentkezzen. Köszönöm.

The only info i have is my grandfathers name which was : Arpad Magyar, Born 25th March 1923
