David: Makszem
I have a keen interest in the name Makszem. In particular I believe this name may have been anglicised as Macshem for my ancestor who lived in London, England for at least 1885 - 1895. Any information much appreciated.

Dear David,

I am not a professional so I would only be able to help you with some basic information. Mákszem means poppy seed in Hungarian, and as listed in the Hun phone book (www.matav.hu) it must be a very rare name with only 4 entries. If you do not speak H I can probably help you put together a few words that you could send to these addresses requesting information.
jull.

Please tell me more. Is your family from Hungary ? I have seen some Makszem people listed in telephone directory for Budapest.

My ancestor's name was anglicised to Macshem but I think it was originally Makszem. His first name was "Henry". In Hungary what is the equivalent of "Henry" ?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards, David
