You need to locate a name of a town in order to proceed with the research. You know that you start the search with what you know YOU and going backwards in the church records to locate the name of a town of your ancestor.
In 1990 in Poland there was one Mauksch which might be your family.

Oliver: Mauksch - Budapest

I am looking for information about the ancestor(s) of the journalist Mauksch Gyorgy and his brother Erno who perished in Budapest in 1945.
The ancestor I am looking for might be a brother or close relative of Mauksch Josef, born 1858 in Bielsko-Biala; his descendants lived in Vienna before the war.

your picture may be (repeat: may be) of the Josef Mauksch who died in 1938 and is buried in Vienna. He was a director of MUNDUS AG, a successful bentwood furniture manufacturer that bought out the famous THONET company. This Joseph has descendants in the United States.

How are you related to him?
